HAMILTON - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have signed import linebacker/defensive back Rico Murray to a contract extension through the 2016 season. Cheap Bills Jerseys China . "Rico is an incredibly versatile player and a natural playmaker whose character makes him a valuable presence in our locker room," said General Manager and Head Coach Kent Austin. During his first season with the Ticats, Murray finished second on the team with 53 defensive tackles while also registering two quarterback sacks, two interceptions, one forced fumble and five pass knockdowns in 14 games.Murray joined the Tiger-Cats on June 5, 2013 after previous stints with the Edmonton Eskimos and Cincinnati Bengals. The Tiger-Cats also announced that import defensive lineman Craig Marshall and import running back Tavoy Moore have signed new deals. Marshall made six tackles and two quarterback sacks in five games during his rookie season. Moore recorded 17 rushing yards and 92 receiving yards while averaging 19.9 yards per kickoff return and 7.9 yards per punt return over the course of five games.  Wholesale Bills Jerseys . With three games at Wembley Stadium this season, the British government recently offered its backing to persuade a franchise to base itself overseas. The feasibility study forecasts the city enjoying an annual economic boost of 102 million pounds ($165 million) from hosting eight home games, largely driven by fan spending.Including spending outside of the capital linked directly or indirectly to a franchise, Deloitte says a London teams total potential gross output in Britain is estimated to be 158 million pounds ($255 million) per season. Deloitte is assuming players and staff would play two games on four visits each season, rather than being based in London. The report will be discussed at the next owners meeting in 2015, said Mark Waller, the NFLs executive vice-president of international who is hoping the obstacles to a London franchise can be overcome. There is no value to anybody putting a team here and finding the rigours of the season do not allow it to compete at the highest level, Waller said. So thats the work we are going to do. Thats probably a five-year piece of work. While the 30-page report paints a positive picture, there are reservations about Wembley hosting the Super Bowl.A major hurdle to overcome with a Super Bowl in London would be selecting a suitable the kick-off time. Starting at 4 p. Cheap Bills Jerseys Authentic. m. EST would be 9 p.m. in London and make transport away from Wembley challenging on a Sunday night. Deloitte says a 6 p.m. local time kickoff may be unlikely to attract the desired television audience in the U.S., where it would be 10 a.m. on the West Coast.Predicting that fewer die-hard fans and season-ticket holders would be able to cross the Atlantic, Deloitte cautions that the atmosphere inside the stadium and on television could be affected and impact on the wider global brand presence. The reaction from the NFLs core U.S. market could focus on the negative implications of moving a definitively American event overseas for reasons that may be perceived as solely financial or commercial, the Deloitte report says.If the NFL instead opted for expanding the International Series to four games in London, the city would still enjoy an annual financial boost of 58 million pounds ($94 million), Deloitte predicts. The firm estimated that the two games in 2013 directly generated 32 million pounds ($52 million) for London, with league spending accounting for a quarter of that. Renting and securing Wembley cost 2.1 million pounds ($3.4 million) for the two matches. The Wembley contract runs until 2016, but the NFL has not talked to West Ham about potentially using the revamped Olympic Stadium in east London. When we looked at that venue before West Ham took it on it wasnt clear to us how it was going to end up as a venue, Waller said.Sajid Javid, the British cabinet minister with responsibility for sports, said the appetite for the NFL is growing and the report shows the cynics are wrong. The NFL has a huge fan base here, the culture secretary said. I hope it will become a second home for American football.___Online: http://pro32.ap.org/poll and http://twitter.com/AP_NFL Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

WELLINGTON, New Zealand -- The New South Wales Waratahs will stand apart from the potential chaos of the last round of the Super Rugby regular season this weekend. C. J. Beathard Womens Jersey . By beating the Highlanders 44-16 last Sunday, the Waratahs clinched first place on the overall table and afforded themselves the only sense of certainty belonging to any of the teams still involved in the playoffs race. They know that whatever happens this weekend, they will have a weeks rest before hosting a home semifinal. For every other team from the second-placed Crusaders to the ninth-placed Blues, who need events of almost miraculous proportions to reach the playoffs, almost nothing is assured. The last and most intriguing episode of the regular season has still to play out. For the Waratahs, with their fate already decided, Saturdays match against the 12th-placed Reds should be little more than an undemanding end to the regular season and a light prelude to their first semifinal in four years. But matches between New South Wales and Queensland, beginning in 1882, are invested with such a potent interstate rivalry, even antipathy, that the Waratahs cannot expect an easy time. Queensland, champions in 2011, have little to salvage from a season in which their performance has fallen well short of expectations, but a win over New South Wales would at least be a small consolation. Waratahs coach Michael Cheika has refused to name an under-strength lineup for the match to spare his frontline players for the semifinal. "You could (injure a player) at any time, in training or regular games," Cheika said. "This is a contact sport, you dont go into it worrying about things like that." In other matches in the final round, the Christchurch-based Crusaders will meet the Dunedin-based Highlanders in a contest for first place in the New Zealand conference. The Crusaders are currently in second place with 46 points and the Highlanders in fourth place with 42, needing a bonus point win to finish ahead of the Crusaders. A single bonus point would be enough to ensure the Crusaders top the New Zealand conference but they need a win, ideally a good one, to hold out the challenge of South Africas Sharks for second place and the other home semifinal. The Sharks wrapped up the South African conference several weeks ago and are currently in third place overall, equal on points with the Crusaders, sharing the Crusaders tally of 10 wins and only eight points behind on points differential. The Durban-based Sharks face the Stormers in the final round -- a team to which they lost only two weeks ago -- and also need to win to enforce their challenge for second place. If both teams win and finish the regular season with 11 wins, points differential may decide which takes the preferred route through the playoffs. The Highlanders need to recover quickly from last weekends six-try mauling at the hands of the Waratahs to take their place in the playoffs for the first time in 12 years. That position isnt yet safe and they could be displaced, depending on the outcome of matches between the ACT Brumbies and the Western Force, the Blues and defending the champion Chiefs. All Blacks captain Richie McCaw has been ruled out of Saturdays match with a rib injury: a minor setback for the Crusaders who can finish no further back than fourth but who are determined to achieve a conference victory and second place. The Chiefs must beat the Blues in Auckland to have any chance of extending their two-year reign as Super Rugby champions. They enter the final round in eighth place and must also depend on the outcome of other matches to gain a top-six finish. The Blues must beat the Chiefs by a clear 38 points and with five tries to preserve their frail hope of a playoffs spot. The Brumbies, in sixth place, and Force, in seventh -- both with 40 points -- also meet in a must-win clash between playoffs hopefuls. The winner of Fridays match at Canberra will advance to the playoffs while the losers season is over. The most anxious role in the final round belongs to the Hurricanes who are currently fifth with 41 points but who have the bye and must allow the outcome of other matches determine whether their season continues. Reuben Foster Jersey . Ghoulam has put pen to paper on a four and a half year deal, tying him to Napoli until 2018. The 22-year-old Algeria international, who played for France at Under 21 level, has made 87 league appearances in four seasons at Saint-Etienne. Solomon Thomas Womens Jersey . Detroits powerful offence made that unnecessary. Scherzer allowed two hits and struck out seven, and the Tigers backed their star right-hander with three early homers in an 8-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday night. At the completion of the preliminary round of the 2014 Olympic mens hockey tournament, Canada is where most people expected them to be; unbeaten and the top team of Group B with a bye to the quarter-finals. Canadas goaltending has been solid - having allowed just two goals in three games – and offensively, the team has dominated puck possession and scored 11 goals. Only the United States and Finland have scored more. However, Canadas 3-1 win over Norway and 6-0 rout of Austria left many fans unconvinced of whether or not the team could compete with fellow tournament juggernauts the United States, Sweden and Russia. The team failed to answer those questions on Sunday with a 2-1 overtime win over Finland, with their only goals coming from defenceman Drew Doughty. Team Canada has failed to find offensive lines that can consistently produce and have split up NHL teammates Sidney Crosby and Chris Kunitz, as well as Jonathan Toews and Patrick Sharp in attempts to find scoring. Following Canadas victory over Finland, head coach Mike Babcock promised further line changes to try to spark his slumping forwards. With Canada exiting the group round with many questions still to be answered – including whom to pair with Crosby – can the team compete with the steady units of the United States and Sweden, or with the host team of Russia? Canada will not play again until Wednesdays quarter-finals, when they take on the winner of Switzerland vs. Latvia. Switzerland has proven to be a tough team in this tournamennt and, while they have struggled to produce offence, the team has allowed just one goal in three games – to Sweden in a 1-0 loss. C. J. Beathard Jersey. Goaltender Jonas Hiller has yet to allow a goal and has proven to be one of the top goalies in Sochi. Though Canadas goaltender controversy appears to be put to bed, many questions still loom over the defending Olympic champions. Atop the list questions is who will be scratched for Canadas quarter-final game? Through three games Matt Duchene, Patrick Sharp, Martin St. Louis and Dan Hamhuis have all sat once, while reigning Norris Trophy winner P.K. Subban has been scratched twice. Another major question for Canada is how to spark its forwards, since defenceman Drew Doughty and Shea Weber have accounted for six of the teams 11 goals. Winger Jeff Carter is the only forward on the team with multiple goals – he scored a hat trick against Austria. An unconvincing group round is not new for Canada, as the team was forced to play in the qualification playoffs at Vancouver 2010 after a shootout win over Switzerland and a regulation loss to Team USA. The team went on to win four straight games and the gold medal. In fact, Canada has not posted a perfect preliminary round at the Olympics since the 1998 Games in Nagano, Japan. With so many questions still to be answered for Team Canada and without the home ice advantage they enjoyed in Vancouver, the question has to be asked; is Canada ready to beat the top teams at Sochi 2014? As always its Your! Call. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

The Jets are back to an even 13-13-4 on the season, 6-7-1 on the road and 3-2 on their current six-game road trip after dropping a 5-2 decision to the Florida Panthers. Harrison Barnes Jersey . These are frustrating games for players, coaches and fans - games where you know you are the better team but where "any team can beat you on any given night" comes into play.  Panthers meanwhile snapped a three-game losing streak. The Jets got off to the good start with Andrew Ladds goal just 5:27 in giving them the early 1-0 lead. It was Ladds eighth goal of the year with assists going to Bryan Little and Blake Wheeler on the marker. Little now has gone seven without a goal, but in his last 18 games, he has seven goals and 12 assists. In the last 18 games, he has not gone back-to-back games without a point and continues to lead the Jets in scoring. Eric Gudbranson later tied the game with his second of the year in a period where the Jets outshot the Panthers 12-9. In the second, a play that started with a big hit by Gudbranson on Toby Enstrom in the Panthers zone led to an odd-man rush and the first NHL goal for Dylan Olsen. That came at 3:21 of the period and, despite a number of great chances, the Jets couldnt get the tying goal past Tim Thomas before Tomas Fleischmann at 17:59 made it 3-1. Fleischmann, battling an offensive slump, has always put up good numbers against the Jets. In fact, he now has 53 career multiple-point games with 11 of them against the Jets. The Jets outshot the Panthers 11-10 in for the period. Nick Bjugstad made it a 4-1 game before former Panthers captain Olli Jokinen, with his seventh of the year, made it 4-2. Seven goals matches his goal total from last season and  Jokinen now has four points in two games (two goals and two assists,) while the assist by Devin Setoguchi gives him five points in his last five games (three goals and two assists.) Chris Thorburn hit a goal post shortly thereafter, but that is as close as the Jets would get as Jimmy Hayes ended the scoring at 17:16 for a 5-2 final. The Jets outshot the Panthers 31-26. It was the first time on this trip the Jets have allowed more than two goals against. The Jets outhit the Panthers 46-19. Players were first to step up after the game and admit that they were not ready to play. But "why" is the question as to which that there did not seem to be a consistent answer. "The game wasnt very good," said a frustrated Jets coach Claude Noel to open his post-game news conference. "We didnt have very many good players," continued Noel. "We played way differently tonight that we did Monday in New York. It was a hard time getting the guys going, getting them engaged in the game." Despite players having said for two days that the "one step forward and two steps back" pattern is not acceptable, it appears they underestimated their opponent. "Why we cant take that next step, I dont know," explained Noel. "We made bad decisions. We have success playing a certain way and then decide to play differently." A win Saturday in Tampa to close out the trip would make it a 4-2 trip and a good six games. A loss, and to go home at .500 after being three and one,  it would be disappointing. You can catch that game live on TSN 1290 Winnipeg at 6pm ct. The Jets played without Evander Kane (day-to-day with a lower body injury,) and Michael Frolik (day-to-day with the flu.) Eric Tangradi played in Froliks spot and had five hits in 15:06 of ice time. After Saturday, the Jets return home for games against St. Louis, Colorado and Dallas. Devin Harris Jersey . TSN 1290s game day coverage begins on Monday, June 9 at 5:30pm ct as the Blue Bombers take on the Toronto Argonauts in pre-season action. Bombers game day broadcasts on TSN 1290 are hosted by Winnipeg Blue Bomber Hall of Famers Troy Westwood and new addition Chris Walby, alongside beat reporter Darrin Bauming, who delivers regular reports on the team for TSN 1290 all-season long. Jose Juan Barea Jersey . The right-hander said he threw about 30 pitches in a routine bullpen session Sunday at Yankee Stadium, his final hurdle before starting Tuesday night at Tampa Bay.LAKE LOUISE, Alta. -- Erik Guay took an important step towards the 2014 Winter Olympics on Saturday. The man who has come the closest to ending Canadas Olympic medal drought in mens skiing effectively booked his ticket to Sochi, Russia, in February. The 32-year-old from Mont-Tremblant, Que., finished eighth in the season-opening World Cup downhill in Lake Louise, Alta. That qualifies him for his third Winter Games. "Its a good thing to get it out of the way," Guay said. Dominik Paris of Italy won Saturdays race with Klaus Kroell of Austria coming second and Adrien Theaux of France third. Guay finished 1.08 seconds back of Paris, whose World Cup victory was the third of his career but first in Lake Louise. "I pushed very hard at the top and the middle section was very bumpy, so it was difficult to ski very good," Paris said. "I tried to go fast and strike the line down. At the finish, I skied very good." The men race a super-G on Sunday before heading to Beaver Creek, Colo., and the second stop on the circuit this season. Canadas last Olympic medal in skiing was Edi Podivinskys downhill bronze in 1994. Guay was fifth in both the downhill and super-G at the 2010 Winter Olympics and was fourth in super-G in 2006. He was just .03 seconds away from the super-G podium in 2010. The 2011 world downhill champion has been a consistent medal producer for Canada. At 19 World Cup career medals, Guay is one away from tying the all-time record held by Steve Podborski. So the Olympic qualification criteria of a pair of top-12 results or one top-five finish wasnt onerous for Guay to achieve. He was one of four Canadian men racing at Lake Louise who were already halfway to qualifying. Each had a top-12 they could carry over from 2012-13. But Guay was short on preparation for Lake Louise. Knee surgery in July kept him off snow until earlier this month. He was fastest in the first training run for Lake Louise, but dropped to 26th in the last training sessionn. Jose Barea Jersey. "I think its an absolutely respectable start to the season," Guay said. "A month ago I didnt even know if I was going to be able to race here. "Winning the training run threw a wrench into things because it sets your standards a little bit higher, but all things considered Im very satisfied with the day." Canada can enter a maximum of four men in downhill and super-G in Sochi. Slalom specialist Marie-Michele Gagnon of Lac-Etchemin, Que., is the only Canadian woman to have qualified for the Olympic ski team so far. Calgarys Jan Hudec, Vancouvers Manny Osborne-Paradis and Ben Thomsen of Whistler, B.C., were still looking for another top-12 to book their ticket to Sochi. Hudec was 22nd, Osborne-Paradis finished 28th and Thomsen placed 44th on Saturday. Snow flurries overnight meant the first few men down the hill -- Osborne-Paradis had the No. 4 start bib -- had to find speed in softer conditions. Visibility changed quickly from dim to bright and back to dim again for the first 30 men down the mountain. "I had good light," Kroell said. "In some places, it was in the sun. Its always the same in Lake Louise. Wednesday to Saturday, it always changes a little bit the light and the wind. "One time youre the lucky one and another youre not. Today, I think I was one of the lucky ones." Hudec, a downhill winner at Lake Louise in 2007, has undergone seven knee surgeries in his career and this is his first healthy start to a season in years. "Thats probably why Im frustrated because I feel a lot better now than I did last year," Hudec said. "I know I have what it takes to get in there. "Tomorrow its like a total regroup. Super-G is a different game, different race. Hopefully Ill have a better start number tomorrow and better weather and go for it." Conrad Pridy of Whistler was 32nd, Jeffrey Frisch of Mont-Tremblant, Que., placed 35th and Conrads brother Morgan finished 45th. Subject :Calgary Flames defenceman Shane OBrien and Detroit Red Wings forward Mikael Samuelsson both cleared

Calgary Flames defenceman Shane OBrien and Detroit Red Wings forward Mikael Samuelsson both cleared waivers on Sunday. Kyle Korver Hawks Jersey . The Red Wings assigned Samuelsson to the AHL Grand Rapids Griffins after the Noon et deadline passed for him to be claimed. OBrien was sent to the AHL Abbotsford Heat. The Flames called up defenceman Chris Breen from the Heat on Sunday. Samuelsson, 37, has played 12 NHL seasons and has one goal and two assists this year in 26 games for Detroit. He has been a frequent healthy scratch and has not played since Jan. 16. OBrien, 30, has three assists and 58 penalty minutes in 45 games for the Flames this season. The seven-year NHL veteran was acquired from the Colorado Avalanche in a four-player trade last June. Dwight Howard Jersey . Louis Blues just continue to roll -- especially against the Nashville Predators. Taurean Prince Jersey . Burkes Flames are one of several teams involved in heavy trade speculation going into next Wednesdays 3pm et deadline, with the most prominent name in play being forward Michael Cammalleri. The Buffalo Sabres liked Matt Moulson so much, after he played 44 games for them last season, that they brought him back as a prize free agent this summer. Numbers Game looks at the Sabres bringing in a veteran winger to help their rebuilding plan. The Sabres Get: LW Matt Moulson. Moulson is a 30-year-old winger who was a three-time 30-goal scorer while skating on John Tavares wing, yet there are signs of decline creeping in. While he scored 23 goals and 51 points in 75 games last season, Moulsons shots on goal per game was down to 2.35, after a career-best 3.28 shots on goal per game in 2012-2013. He had three points in 10 playoff games before oblique and groin injuries knocked him out of the lineup. Over the course of his career, Moulson has been a mediocre possession player, which has generally meant good relative numbers while playing for bad teams, Going back to Buffalo, where he had 11 goals and 29 points in 44 games last season, Moulson should be looking at prime ice time, playing first line and power play, because hes one of the few on the roster that has been a consistent goal-scorer in the NHL. Given the supporting cast, it will be tough for Moulson to get bback to the 30-goal level that was becoming customary with the Islanders, but the Sabres scored a league-low 1. Dwight Howard Hawks Jersey. 83 goals per game last season, so any offensive contribution will be welcomed. Theres also a decent chance that, by the end of this five-year, $25-million deal, the Sabres wont be thrilled about the production they are getting from Moulson, as his goal-scoring production is likely to decline as he heads towards his mid-thirties, but whats the real downside? The Sabres are probably a bad team for at least a couple more years and if the supporting cast gets better, as it should, then maybe Moulson can still produce secondary offence as the Sabres eventually become more competitive. In the short-term, the next couple of seasons, if Moulson could hit for 25 goals and 50 points per season, then that would have to be considered very successful. The Wild made up for the loss of Moulson by signing free agent Thomas Vanek who, coincidentally enough, was traded for Moulson last season. WINNIPEG - Cam Ward grinned as he described how he felt like a kid making some key saves in his Carolina Hurricanes 3-2 victory over the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday. Alvin Kamara Jersey . Ward stole a pair of goals from Winnipeg centre Bryan Little in the first period, beginning with a pad save during a Jets two-man advantage and then displaying his quickness with a highlight-reel stick stop. Little was about to fire the puck into a wide-open side of the net, but Ward whipped out his stick and the puck hit the paddle. "It was a fun save," Ward said with a chuckle after making 34 stops. "The initial shot was in a position where I knew I was going to have to kick out a bit of a rebound. Just out of pure desperation, I threw my stick out there and made a save that brings you back to the ol street hockey days as a kid. "But Little, I think he got even with me scoring that second goal in the third period so it all evens out." Jets head coach Paul Maurice, who coached the Hurricanes for parts of 11 seasons, even tipped his hat to Ward. "Cam Ward was the story of this hockey game," Maurice said. "He was the best player on the ice." The Jets had mounted a 9-0 advantage in shots on goal on the way to a 13-6 gap at the end of a scoreless first period. Ward then got some offensive help from his teammates, as brothers Eric and Jordan Staal and Riley Nash each scored within a span of two minutes and 53 seconds in the second. Defenceman Andrej Sekera had a pair of assists for the Hurricanes (31-31-9) to give him 31 on the season to go with 11 goals. Jets centre Jim Slater had scored his first goal of an injury-marred season 7:48 into the second, but Eric Staal got the roll going 37 seconds later with his 17th goal of the season. Little scored his 21st goal of the season for Winnipeg (32-31-9) 1:27 into the third period. Al Montoya stopped 29 shots while making his fourth straight start in net for Winnipeg since Ondrej Pavelec went out with a lower-body injury. Hes expected to return to action next week. Montoya was pointing the finger at himself for the loss. "We came out firing. Their goaltender played well," Montoya said. "I didnt make the saves I needed to make and at the end of the day that cost us the game." Maurice said Montoya was wrong. "If a guy is clearly the reason youre in the hole, Ill get him out of the net before that happens," Maurice said. "They get to this level thinking they should stop everything. He will feel that because hes got a front-row seat to the way the guy at the other end is playing so its magnified." Carolina head coach Kirk Muller said Wards stellar play was inspiring for his teammates. "The guys knew that he was giving a great effort and he was keeping us in there," Muller said. "They were like, Hey, weve got to surround him with some better play here and, fortunately, we got timely goals. We played better the rest of the game and it was a nice team effort for everybody." Ward has battled through two injuries this season and was bumped to backup for Anton Khudobin, who was in net for Carolinas 3-2 loss to Chicago Friday night. Carolina returns home for a game Tuesday against the New York Islanders. Winnipeg, which heads out on a five-game road trip beginning Monday in Dallas, remains at 73 points. Heading into the game, the Jets were six points back of the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference. The Jets were coming off a 5-4 overtime win against Colorado on March 19. The loss to Carolina was Winnipegs 40th one-goal game this season and they are 18-13-9 in those outings. Jordan Staal made it 2-1 when he went through Jets defenders and scored over Montoyas blocker at 10:10 of the second while Slater was in the penalty box for tripping. Maurice said Winnipegs first period was "about as good as were going to play," but Staals power-play marker hurt. "No doubt we got tight at 2-1," he said. "You could feel it." The Jets, who were outshot 21-8 in the second, were working without defenceman Zach Bogosian, who left the game in the period with an upper-body injury that Maurice said isnt too serious. It appeared Stuart tied it up six minutes after Littles goal, but the goal was waved off for goaltender interference as Jets defenceman Dustin Byfuglien fell on top of Ward in the crease and was lying on his right arm. Winnipeg pulled Montoya with about 65 seconds left in the game and swarmed Ward, but the veteran held tough. The Jets outshot the Hurricanes 15-5 in the third. Notes: Jordan Staals power-play goal was the first the Jets have allowed at home in five consecutive games. Winnipegs penalty kill was ranked fifth-best (84.8 per cent) in the NHL heading into the game … Both the Jets and Hurricanes are 2-3-0 in their last five games … The game was the second one of Carolinas 18th set of back-to-back games this season. It plays two more. Only Jersey has more back-to-back sets this season with 22. The Hurricanes so far are 9-8-1 in the first game of their sets and 5-10-3 in the second game. Marshon Lattimore Womens Jersey . Jeff Carter had two goals and an assist as the Kings stretched their streak to seven wins in a row with a 4-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday. Marshon Lattimore Saints Jersey .C. United to a 4-1 victory over short-handed FC Dallas on Saturday night.NEW YORK -- Jason Kidd has a winning record for the first time in his coaching career. "Doesnt matter," he said. "It doesnt. Were playing better, thats all that matters." Better than anybody in the Eastern Conference since the new year, in fact. Joe Johnson scored 21 points, Marcus Thornton came off the bench for 20, and the Nets powered their way above .500 for the first time this season by beating the Memphis Grizzlies 103-94 on Wednesday night. Deron Williams added 16 points and Paul Pierce 14 for the Nets (30-29), who have won four in a row overall and six straight at home in turning around a turbulent start. They are still only sixth in the Eastern Conference, but look capable of climbing more after following a rout of Chicago on Monday by clobbering the Grizzlies for most of this one. The matchup between two of the NBAs best teams in 2014 was a mismatch until the fourth quarter, when the Nets had already led by 30. Memphis fell to 21-9 since Jan. 1, while the Nets 20-8 record is tops among East teams. "Its not always how you start, its going to be how you finish. And I think with the way weve been playing as of late, since the All-Star break, since the turn of the new year, this is the Nets team that I envisioned from the beginning of the season," Pierce said. Jon Leuer scored 19 and Marc Gasol 18 for the Grizzlies, who were without Zach Randolph because of the flu and then turned in a sickly performance. Memphis never led and missed a chance to tie Phoenix for the Wests eighth and final playoff spot. "We look at the standings every day. I hear guys talking about who lost, who won. Just to come out with a performance like this is devastating," guard Tony Allen said. "But we cant hold our heads down. Weve got to keep pushing." Leading scorer Mike Conley missed all eight shots and had two points and six turnovers. "It was a tough night," Memphis coach Dave Joerger said. "We had some guys really, really struggle tonight. Give them credit. They came out and played with a much more forceful nature, attacking us, both being physical defensively and just the mentality that, you know Were going to bring it to you. Alvin Kamara Youth Jersey. " Jason Collins played 17 scoreless minutes on the day he signed his second 10-day contract. The NBAs first openly gay player got a visit in the locker room before the game from Commissioner Adam Silver, but received just polite applause when he checked in during the second quarter after getting a standing ovation Monday during his home debut. Randolph sat in front of his locker before the game with his sweatshirts hood pulled over his head, ultimately deciding he lacked the energy to play. Pierce went right at his replacement, Ed Davis, and already had eight points by the time Davis was yanked with the Grizzlies trailing 13-2. James Johnson replaced him and quickly botched a fast-break layup as Memphis missed 10 of its first 11 shots. Andray Blatches three-point play made it 26-5 with 3:30 left in the first, and Brooklyn led 54-44 at halftime. Brooklyn scored the first nine of the second half to open a 19-point lead and kept pouring it on by making six 3-pointers in the third quarter. The lead hit 87-57 on Johnsons short jumper, but the Nets had to bring starters back when the Grizzlies sliced that in half by midway in the fourth. The Nets were 10-21 after getting blown out at San Antonio on New Years Eve, threatening to become the NBAs biggest flop after building a team that would cost more than $180 million in salary and taxes. But theyve kept rolling after losing leading scorer Brook Lopez for the season, and most recently playing without Kevin Garnett for the past three because of back spasms. They picked up Thornton in a trade with Sacramento just before the trade deadline, a move that was all but ignored after they signed Collins a few days later. But hes scored 20 or more in two of his first five games with the Nets, and had 15 in the second quarter alone Wednesday. Notes: The Nets are 9-3 against West teams since Jan. 1. ... The Grizzlies Nick Calathes was chosen Wednesday as the Western Conference rookie of the month for February, when he averaged 10.7 points and 4.6 assists. ... Memphis had scored 110 in each of two previous games and was averaging 103.4 since the All-Star break. Unlike those, though, the Friday night encounter was relatively muted and Wawrinka even described it as Strange. Not the best, for sure. There were parts of the match where I stepped in and played a game I needed to play, but parts of the match where I played too defensive and allowed him to dictate, Djokovic said. So, yeah, it was very emotional, very tense, as it always is against a top player in semifinals of a Grand Slam.So the battle was great ... in terms of fighting from both sides .. but the level of performance was not where I wanted it to be.Djokovic improved his record to 17 wins in 20 matches against Wawrinka, who will drop to No. 9 in the rankings next week.Djokovic has beaten Murray in seven of their last eight matches and is 15-8 overall, but theyre level in Grand Slam finals with two wins apiece — Djokovic in Australia in 2011 and 13 and Murray at the 2012 U.S. Open and Wimbledon in 2013.Wawrinka madee his career breakthrough here last year, when he beat Djokovic, Tomas Berdych and Rafael Nadal to claim his first Grand Slam title, but he hadnt been past the quarterfinals at a major since his return to Melbourne Park. Amara Darboh Jersey. Theres no pressure for that. Im surprised we went five sets again, he said. But, no, for sure we had some great battle here last two years. Today was strange match. He was there playing good enough to win and he deserve to win and play the final. At times Wawrinka got on top of Djokovic, who looked lethargic at times and didnt realize after winning the third set that hed taken a 2-1 lead. But Djokovic kept his composure in the 3-hour, 30-minute match as Wawrinka blasted 42 winners but offset that with 69 unforced errors. Djokovic hit 27 winners — none in the fourth set — and finished with 49 unforced errors. The momentum shifted suddenly in three of the five sets, with both players struggling to turn service breaks into big leads. Djokovic was broken once in each of the first three sets and twice in the fourth. He broke Wawrinka seven times in the match, including three in the last set.Sixth-seeded Murray, who has lost three Australian Open finals, moved into the championship match with a fiery four-set win over No. 7 Tomas Berdych on Thursday night.Djokovic said hes going to have to improve considerably to maintain his perfect record in Australian Open finals.I think I have much more positive things to reflect on in my game and then all the matches that I played so far in the tournament than the negative, he said. Im in the finals. In the end of the day, thats why Im here. Getting to the finals in any way possible is a great achievement. Im going to try to use that to build up of the confidence for finals. CLEVELAND -- Justin Mastersons health is in serious doubt. Taywan Taylor Womens Jersey . The Indians playoff chances are just as iffy. Masterson was pulled from his start in the second inning with soreness in his left side and Clevelands hitters stayed in a collective slump Monday night with a 7-2 loss to the Baltimore Orioles, one of the teams the Indians are scrapping with for the AL wild card. Masterson felt tightness in his side in the first inning, and after applying a heat ointment between innings, Clevelands All-Star ace took the mound in the second thinking he would be able to continue. But after a few pitches, his outing was done -- and its possible his season could be over as well. "It just tightened up on me," Masterson (14-10) said. "I went out to throw and it was like, Oh, boy. I couldnt get through a pitch. I was trying to sink em in there, but it wasnt going to work." Masterson will undergo an MRI and other tests Tuesday. Those results could determine whether the Indians will continue to battle for one of two playoff spots. "Hopefully its nothing serious," All-Star second baseman Jason Kipnis said. "Definitely love to have the big fella out there for us. Hes our ace." Bud Norris (10-10) stayed unbeaten as a starter with Baltimore and Nate McLouth homered and had three RBIs as the Orioles moved 1 1/2 games ahead of the Indians in the wild-card standings. Norris allowed one run -- a homer to Kipnis in the seventh -- and four hits in seven innings. The right-hander improved to 4-0 in seven starts with the Orioles, who acquired him at the July 31 trading deadline from Houston. Matt Wieters hit a two-run homer in the ninth and Brian Roberts drove in two runs for the Orioles, who didnt take any satisfaction in not having to face Masterson for more than two innings. "You hate to see that," McLouth said. "I feel really bad for him. He can go through stretches of a game where hes so dominant. It does make a difference." Masterson said its possible he could only miss a few days and that some rest will help. However, he also realizes the tests could reveal something more significant. "Its not the best-case scenario," he said. "So if it is any more serious than I think it is, we have some good guys in place that can do a lot of work. Were hoping things will be all right. We have a lot of guys coming up who can help out and do a good job. "I think youre going to see the guys really battle over the next 25 games that we got. "Thats going to show up whether Im here or not." With just one month left, the Indians arent going to take any chances with Masterson, their leader in wins, innings and just about everything else. "Its hard to quantify," Indians manager Terry Francona said when asked about Mastersons value. "Hes our best pitcher. But when things dont go your way, you can either feel sorry for yourselves or you can find a way to shine. I hope that we are able to come back, whether it takes everybody in the bullpen or guys on the bench, keep fighting. "Thats the best way to do it." After dropping two of three in Boston and New York, the Orioles, who staggered through a 12-14 August, arrived in Cleveland needing to string some wins together. "I knew that schedule was going to be a challenge," manager Buck Showalter said before the game. "Were .500 in our last 10 games. Is it half full or half empty?" Norris provided some more optimism, striking out eight and keeping his record unblemished in seven starts since joining Baltimore. He allowed just one hit through five innings, and picked Michael Brantley off second in the second. The Indians are sliding in the wrong direction. They went 1-5 on a trip to Atlanta and Detroit, only salvaging the finale Sunday thanks to a ninth-inning grand slam by Mike Aviles to beat the Tigers. Masterson initially showed discomfort while working to Wieters leading off the second. He grimaced and flared his elbow at his side, a motion that sent Francona to the mound accompanied by a trainer. The right-hander stayed in the game, but after allowing a single to Wieters, he threw an 87 mph fastball to Nick Markakis and paused. Catcher Carlos Santana headed to the mound and shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera immediately waved toward the dugout, bringing Francona again. He took the ball from Masterson, who dejectedly walked off the field and then disgustedly tossed a cup of water in the dugout before heading to the clubhouse. "There wasnt any pull or anything like that that Im aware of," Masterson said. "Were going to get a few more things checked out over the next couple days." Preston Guilmet replaced Masterson and gave up a single to Markakis. With one out, McLouth hit an apparent RBI double to centre. However, the Indians won an appeal that Markakis missed second base, and under rule 10.05, McLouth was not awarded a hit on the play because it was a forceout. After Guilmet walked No. 9 hitter Alexi Casilla, Roberts hit a two-run double to make it 3-0. NOTES: Indians RHP Corey Kluber, sidelined since Aug. 6 with a sprained middle finger, will pitch in relief Friday after Scott Kazmir starts against the Mets. Kluber pitched a simulated game Monday, and because he hasnt pitched in some time, the Indians want to be conservative with him. Also, the club is concerned about overworking Kazmir. "I think it has a chance to help us win, help both pitchers and help the bullpen," Francona said. ... Indians OF Ryan Raburn is expected to be activated Tuesday after being sidelined with a pulled calf muscle. ... With his next homer, Hardy will become the fourth active shortstop and ninth since 1901 to record three or more seasons with 25 or more homers. SANTA CLARA, Calif. Ryan Switzer Youth Jersey . - San Francisco 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman was scheduled for his first practice of the season Tuesday, officially opening a 21-day window during which the team can decide whether to activate him or send him to the injured reserve list. The three-time All-Pro sustained a major injury to his left knee in last seasons NFC championship game against the Seattle Seahawks. But he has been a constant presence at the 49ers training facility and has been engaging with his teammates as though preparing for every game.Hes looked good to me the past two weeks, linebacker Michael Wilhoite said. I dont know what his work load will be but Im excited about having him back.San Francisco will maintain a cautious approach with Bowman as he eases his way back into football shape.Coach Jim Harbaugh had said Monday that he expects Bowman will take advantage of some walkthrough, some limited individual drills.Bowman had appeared in every game the 49ers played over the previous four years and had started 58, including the playoffs. He had a spectacular season in 2013, with career highs in tackles (192), solo tackles (118), passes defended (9) and sacks (5).He also recorded his only career touchdown on an 89-yard interception return against the Atlanta Falcons.Im sure hes chomping at the bit, Wilhoite said. Taco Charlton Womens Jersey . -- The Oakland Raiders expect to have starting right tackle Tony Pashos back for Sundays game against the Houston Texans.MILWAUKEE - After committing $50 million to free agent Matt Garza, the Milwaukee Brewers are feeling much better about their pitching staff. Garza completed a four-year contract with Milwaukee on Sunday, strengthening the top of the rotation and boosting the Brewers hopes following a disappointing season. The deal includes an option and performance bonuses that could make it worth up to $67 million over five years. General manager Doug Melvin called Garza an "established, top-of-the-rotation pitcher." "The thing about signing Matt now, it gives us a lot more depth and, as you know, during a baseball season, you never use five starters," Melvin said. "So, just kind of wait and see how spring training unfolds, and always having the available depth is important to stay in a 162-game season." Garza gets $12.5 million a season, with $2 million annually deferred without interest. The deferred money is payable in four installments each Dec. 15 starting in 2018. He can earn an additional $1 million annually in performance bonuses: $500,000 each for 30 starts and 190 innings. The deal includes a $13 million option for 2018 that would become guaranteed if he makes 110 starts during the next four years, pitches 155 innings in 2017 and is not on the disabled list at the end of that season. Milwaukee also would get an extra year at a relatively low salary if he has a significant arm injury. The 30-year-old righty went 10-6 with a 3.82 ERA last season for the Chicago Cubs and Texas Rangers. He missed most of the first two months while recovering from an injury that affected his side and back. Garza will join Yovani Gallardo and Kyle Lohse as Milwaukees top starters. He is 67-67 with a 3.84 ERA in eight seasons wwith Minnesota, Tampa Bay, the Cubs and Texas. Chidobe Awuzie Womens Jersey. The Brewers ranked ninth in the National League with a 3.84 ERA last season, when they finished fourth in the NL Central at 74-88. Garza was looking forward to pitching — and hitting — in the NL Central again. "Its fun. I like the Central, I like pitching in the Central," he said during a conference call. "I like swinging the bat in the big parks." The move also adds depth to Milwaukees staff and puts less pressure on young pitchers such as Wily Peralta and Tyler Thornburg at the back end of the rotation. Milwaukee also has Marco Estrada and Johnny Hellweg as rotation options, and lefty Will Smith was acquired from Kansas City in December for outfielder Norichika Aoki. "Weve said now for a couple of years that were focusing on pitching and pitching depth," Attanasio told reporters. "You can never have enough pitching depth, and I would argue we have as much pitching depth as weve had (in) my 10 seasons of ownership." Garza was the MVP of the 2008 AL championship series for Tampa Bay, beating Boston twice. He also has thrown the only no-hitter in Rays history, on July 26, 2010, against Detroit. Milwaukee has protection against an arm injury in two ways. If he is on the disabled list for 130 or more days during any 183-day period for a right shoulder or elbow injury, or an injury resulting from instability in the shoulder or elbow, Milwaukee gets a $1 million option for 2018. If he has fewer than 90 starts during the next four years, the Brewers have a $5 million option. Garza has a complete no-trade provision this year. He can block deals to 15 teams in 2015, 10 in 2016 and six in 2017. Calgary Stampeders slotback Nik Lewis appears to be done for the season after suffering an ankle injury in last Saturdays game against the B. Tim Hardaway Jr. Jersey .C. Lions. "Looks like my season is over, but I will tell u I serve an awesome God . I will grind thru this and if Im able to play late, Ill play," Lewis tweeted Thursday night. "Just to let everyone know what changed was the fact that I tore all the ligaments in my ankle too," the slotback added on Twitter. Calgary Herald writer Vicki Hall originally reported the news on Thursday, stating the 31-year-old is likely done for the year after undergoing surgery. Stamps Head Coach John Hufnagel did not want to be definitive when asked about the injury on Thursday. When asked about Lewis possible return in 2013, Hufnagel told the Herald: "From the latest report I got, no, its not likely," However, he deferred to the teams medical staff before committing to Lewis being shut down. "I want to make sure I know exactly what Im talking about when I get back to Calgary and talk to the doctors." Lewis has a team-leading 32 receptions for the Stampeders this season totalling 400 yards. He is currently on the nine-game injured reserve list. Adreian Payne Hawks Jersey . -- Kole Calhoun homered and drove in three runs, Albert Pujols also went deep and the Los Angeles Angels beat the Chicago White Sox 8-4 Friday night. Tiago Splitter Hawks Jersey . "Hopefully well get all this out of the way," he said, "and everyone will be healthy the rest of the year." Zimmerman was placed on the 15-day disabled list Sunday and is expected to miss between four to six weeks.Dressed in civvies and a hoodie to hide the damage, a sheepish looking Nigel Reo Coker emerged at training Thursday following his Sunday night stumble.  The injury was gruesome, enough to keep the midfielder out of this weekends clash with Houston.  The bruise to Reo-Cokers ego and reputation, however, might be more damaging.  The former Villa and West Ham recruit has not had a stellar start to 2014.  He dazzled once during the season opener beautifully setting up Pedro Moraless first MLS goal in the late stages, but that was a rare foray into the front third.  At Chivas, he coughed up the ball in a bad area at a bad time, and the 10 men Goats took full advantage.  In addition, against New England he had his pocket picked on a couple of occasions and was fortunate that neither led to a serious goal threat.  Being substituted in the 60th and 70th minutes of those last two games was an indictment on his fitness. Youd think with a child on the way and a real opportunity in Vancouver to be the catalyst and a leader in a young squad, that "Reo C" would have come to camp in top shape and perhaps give the Whitecaps something tto think about long term. Jarrett Jack Jersey.   At 29-years-old, hes still young, hes the box to box midfielder the Caps need, and he has some excellent supporting characters around him. But he didnt come to camp in shape, and in a simple one-on-one drill at the beginning of last week, he was badly exposed by a potential replacement in young Canadian Bryce Alderson.   For all his bluster, Reo Coker has been put in his place, by an inanimate object no less.  It might have been his manager sending the message, but now Carl Robinson has been let off the hook by having that decision made for him.  What happens from here will define Reo Cokers future in Vancouver.  He might view this injury/incident as the motivation needed to put his head down, get fit and let his game do the talking.  The alternative will look all too familiar to keen observers of the British Bulldogs career; a departure with questions asked and unanswered followed by a new beginning somewhere else.  I for one, hope its the former because its easy to like Nigel Reo Coker the person.  Its even easier to like Nigels game when its at its very best. Barnsley and Peterborough have agreed fees with Colchester for midfielder George Moncur, according to Sky sources. Wes Unseld Wizards Jersey . The clubs have matched Colchesters £500,000 asking price and also agreed to include a number of add-on clauses which could see the fee eventually rise to £750,000.  Moncur is yet to decide on a move, despite holding initial discussions with both sides.  Barnsley have been pursuing the 22-year-old since gaining promotion to the Championship in May and had a bid in the region of £400,000 rejected by Colchester last week. Moncur to leave Colchester George Moncur will be allowed to leave Colchester this summer – Sky sources Peterborough have also been tracking Moncur and will hope to convince him to remain in League One next season.Charlton, Peterboroughs League One rivals, had a £150,000 offer for Moncur turned down in May.Moncur joined Colchester on loan from West Ham in August 2014 before making the move permanent three months later. Moncur has been a regular goalscorer for Colchester since joining from West Ham He scored 14 times in 51 matches during the 2015-16 season, taking his tally for the club to 23 in 97 appearances.Moncur was one of few bright spots in a disappointing campaign for Colchester, who will play their football in the bottom tier next season after finishing in 23rd spot in League One. The same for both the Calgary Flames and the Edmonton Oilers. ST. LOUIS -- After the St. Louis Blues let a two-goal lead get away, Vladimir Tarasenko made sure they skated off with a win. Tarasenko scored and added an assist in regulation, and then netted the deciding goal in the shootout to lead the Blues to a 4-3 win over the Nashville Predators on Saturday night. Just seconds after Roman Josi gave the Predators a 3-2 lead at 7:33 of the third period, Tarasenko got control of the puck. He moved into the Nashville end, and after hesitating from the high slot, beat goalie Carter Hutton with a wrist shot at 7:49. Tarasenko credited his father, Andrei, who coaches in Russia, for his tying goal. "That was a set play that my father (taught) me," he said. "If you do it right, its probably hard to catch it. I just tried to make it through." But Blues coach Ken Hitchcock said Tarasenko, who has 18 goals, has the kind of skills that cannot be taught. "Theres not many pure shooters," Hitchcock said. "But hes one of them." Brian Elliott, who has won 14 of his last 15 at home, stopped three of four shots in the shootout. Nashville fell to 1-7 in the tiebreaker. Predators coach Barry Trotz was pleased to get one point. "I thought it was a great point for us," Trotz said. "Youre down to the St Louis Blues 2-0, and its a real hard rink to come into. They come at you hard, but I thought as the game went on we got better and better." Jaden Schwartz and David Backes also scored for the Blues, who have beaten the Predators eighht of the last nine. Trey Burke Jersey. Elliott made 28 saves to end a three-game losing streak. Paul Gaustad, Mike Fisher and Roman Josi scored the Nashville goals, and Hutton turned aside 31 shots. Fisher got the Predators even 2-2 at 3:25 of the third period when he beat Elliott from a bad angle along the right boards. Josi then gave Nashville its first lead, but it lasted just 16 seconds. "Tarasenko is dangerous off the rush," Trotz said. Derek Roy, who played on a line with Tarasenko and Jaden Schwartz, said the sky is the limit for Tarasenko. "I feel like he gets better every game," Roy said. "Hes eager to learn. He wants to play well and he wants to win. Those are good qualities in a player." Schwartz opened the scoring with a power-play goal at 9:11 of the first period when he converted a centring pass from Chris Stewart. Backes gave St. Louis a 2-0 lead when he redirected Jay Bouwmeesters shot from the right point at 3:31 of the second. But Gaustad got the Predators back in it with 3:12 left in the second when the puck came to him in the slot off a scrum in the corner, and he buried a shot past Elliott. NOTES: Nashville D Shea Weber, who scored twice in Friday nights 3-2 win against New Jersey, was listed as questionable because of an upper-body injury but he played his usual shifts. ... Backes played in his 543rd game with the Blues, tying him with Keith Tkachuk for 12th place on the teams career list. ... Josi has 11 points in his last 10 games. CINCINNATI - Kyle Lohse is making a habit of finishing strong. Wholesale Patriots Jerseys . The Brewers hope against all odds that hes not done yet.Lohse made the most of another wasteful day for Milwaukees offence, throwing a two-hitter and driving in a run on Wednesday night for a 5-0 victory that forestalled elimination from the playoffs a bit longer.Milwaukee will be eliminated from the wild card race with a loss or a win by San Francisco, which played later Wednesday at Los Angeles. Pittsburgh clinched at least the other wild card spot on Tuesday night.Hopefully we get a lot of luck here and maybe he gets another start, manager Ron Roenicke said. The Brewers led the NL Central for 150 days, but fell apart at the end. Since June 28th, theyve gone 30-45. The offence has unraveled, scoring two or fewer runs in each of the previous six games. Its been tough for everybody, said Lohse (13-9), who faced only 29 batters. It just felt like we were climbing uphill the whole time and couldnt get anything going. Unfortunately thats the way its been going.Lohse gave up a pair of singles by Jack Hannahan, didnt walk a batter and fanned six in his second shutout of the season. He also had a sacrifice fly during Milwaukees three-run eighth inning, which was highlighted by Jean Seguras two-run double. If Segura hadnt doubled, Roenicke was going to pinch-hit for Lohse to try to get more runs.I think he saved me there, Lohse said. That was huge. The big inning allowed Lohse to finish the season the same way he did last year. Lohse also threw a two-hitter in his final start of 2013, a 4-0 win at Atlanta. Its weird, Lohse said.Rickie Weeks had a pair of singles and drove in a run, and Carlos Gomez had an RBI double off Daniel Corcino (0-2), who made his third start in the majors. The Brewers got a run in the fourth, but even that came with a misplay. Aramis Ramirez doubled, advanced on a groundout, and scored on Weeks single. Weeks was thrown out by more than 10 feet as he tried to stretch it to a double.Gomez doubled home a run in the fifth, when the Brewers left the bases loaded. The Brewers loaded the bases again in the seventh with two outs, but Ramirez grounded out, keeping it 2-0.Billy Hamilton made the games best play. He stretched above the fence in centre to steal a home run away from Ryan Braun in the third inning, slamming the right side of his head hard against the fence. He held the side of his head as he left the field and came out of the game in the fifth with a mild concussion.REDS WIN REPLAYThe Reds had a call overturned in the second inning, undercutting a rally. Weeks singled and was initially ruled safe at second on Lyle Overbays grounder to shortstop Zack Cozart, who tried for a forceout. The replay showed he was out.BAD AT GABPThe Brewers have lost 13 of their last 19 games at Great American Ball Park and 31 of their last 45. The Brewers are 3-6 in Cincinnati this season.STATSLohse was 2-1 in five starts against the Reds this season with a 2.13 ERA. ... It was Lohses 12th career complete game and his ninth career shutout. ... The Reds fell to 41-36 at home. ... It was Hannahans first multihit game since Sept. 1. ... In addition to give up six hits, Reds pitchers walked a season-high 10 batters.TRAINERS ROOMBrewers: Weeks started at second base in place of Scooter Gennett, who has been bothered by an injured right thigh. Gennett also will get off on Thursday.Reds: Right-handed starter Mat Latos is slowly recovering from a bruised right elbow that has sidelined him since Sept. 12. Hes been able to throw but not completely pain-free, manager Bryan Price said.ON DECKBrewers: Milwaukee plays its final road game on Thursday. The Brewers are 40-40 on the road. Yovani Gallardo (8-10) is 0-4 in his last six starts.Reds: Left-hander David Holmberg (1-2) makes his fifth start of the season. DETROIT -- With the trade deadline minutes away, Austin Jackson saw a replacement on the top step of the dugout and realized what was happening. Marcus Maye Youth Jersey . "I pretty much kind of knew what was going on," Jackson said. "Just kind of a sad moment right there knowing that last run off the field, it was pretty tough with all your teammates that you played with." Jackson was traded by the Tigers on Thursday in a three-team deal that brought star left-hander David Price to Detroit. But the timing of the move allowed him one last ovation from the home fans. With one out in the seventh inning of a 7-4 loss to the Chicago White Sox, Jackson was pulled from the game and made the long jog from centre field to the dugout. Left-hander Drew Smyly was also involved in the deal. He started and pitched five innings, although he didnt have to be taken out abruptly like Jackson was. The game quickly became a secondary concern in the Motor City when news of the trade began circulating, but Detroit lost for the fifth time in six games. Moises Sierra had four hits, and Jose Abreu and Adam Eaton added three apiece for the White Sox. Joakim Soria (1-4) -- another pitcher Detroit recently traded for -- hit Paul Konerko with the bases loaded in the seventh to give the White Sox a 5-4 lead. Abreu extended his hitting streak to 20 games. Ronald Belisario (4-7) got the win in relief, and Jake Petricka pitched the ninth for his sixth save. Chicagos John Danks allowed four runs and seven hits in five innings. There had been speculation he might be dealt before the deadline. "Truthfully it wasnt even a topic of conversation in here between anybody," Danks said. "Theres nothing anybody can do about it. Its part of the game and yeah, I dont think that had any effect on any of us to be honest." Instead it was Detroits Thursday starter who ended up being traded. Smyly pitched five innings and allowed four runs and 11 hits. Detroits Torii Hunter and J.D. Martinez hit back-to-back homers in the third. SORIAS STRUGGLES: Soria came on in the seventh in a tie game and struck out Eaton, only to have the Chicago hitter reach base on a wild pitch. After a single by Alexei Ramirez and an intentional walk to Abreu, Soria got pinch-hitter Conor Gillaspie on a popup before hitting Konerko. "I wouldnt say that was a rough outing to be honest with you," Detroit manager Brad Ausmus said. "I know he gave up the run and he gave up that hit, but I thought it was a pretty good outing." AMAZING ABREU: Abreu doubled twice off Smyly and extended his hitting streak. The Chicago slugger has hit safely in 38 of his last 39 games. Only two rookies have had longer hitting streaks for the White Sox: Guy Curtright had a 26-gamer in 1943, and Chico Carrasquel had a 24-gamer in 1950. TRAINERS ROOM White Sox: Outfielder Avisail Garcia (shoulder) and reliever Matt Lindstrom (ankle) are both starting rehab assignments Friday at Triple-A Charlotte. Tigers: Outfielder Andy Dirks, who has missed the whole season so far because of back problems that required surgery, is set to begin a rehab stint Friday with Class A West Michigan. ON DECK White Sox: Chicago returns home to face Minnesota on Friday night. Ace left-hander Chris Sale (10-1) takes the mound for the White Sox against Logan Darnell (9-6) of the Twins. Tigers: Detroit takes on Colorado in an interleague matchup. Justin Verlander (9-9) starts for the Tigers against Franklin Morales (5-5). Marcus Maye Womens Jersey . James scored 25 points against his former team, leading the energized Heat to a 114-107 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday night. CHARLOTTE, N. Dalvin Tomlinson Youth Jersey .C. - While much of the talk was about whether New Orleans could win a big game — or any game, for that matter — on the road, the conversation in the Saints locker room was about something completely different.Revenge.The Saints werent focused on breaking a seven-game road losing streak dating to last season. They were stinging from their four-point loss at Carolina last December that allowed the Panthers to take control of the NFC South lead and eventually win the division title. So New Orleans 28-10 victory Thursday night left the Saints (4-4) feeling pretty good.We knew we had a chance to take control of the division, said Mark Ingram, who ran for 100 yards on 30 carries. We lost to them here at the end of last year so we felt like we left something here. We had to come back and take care of business.Said Saints coach Sean Payton: We had a hard loss here last year, a tough loss. At halftime, we talked about that finish. The Saints are .500 for the first time this season and right that is good enough to lead the NFC South. And they are clearly playing better than any of their division rivals. Here are some things we learned from the Saints victory over the Panthers (3-5-1):SAINTS COME RUNNING IN: The Saints are dangerous enough with Drew Brees, but the idea of the New Orleans having a running game is downright scary. Ingram has rushed for 272 yards and three touchdowns in back-to-back wins. It wasnt always pretty, and yet, we were able to control the game a little bit, Payton said. That was a big plus. The Saints are putting up big numbers with Pierre Thomas and Khiry Robinson still out with injuries.HARDY GONE FOR SEASON: The Panthers certainly need help on defence, but it isnt going to come in the form of Pro Bowl defensive end Greg Hardy. A person familiar with the situation says Hardys domestic violence appeal trial set for Nov. 17 has been postponed until next year, meaning his season — and his career — with Carolina could be over. The Panthers placed Hardy on the exempt-commissioners permission list Sept. 17. He isnt allowed to return until after his trial is resolved. He will be an unrestricted free agent after the season.WHERES THE OFFENSE: The Panthers have failed to break the 10-point plateau in each of the last two games. Cam Newton has not thrown a TD pass in either game, although rookie Kelvin Benjamin has dropped two passes in the end zone. Everybodys looking for a magic play, said Newton, who misfired on 18 of 28 passes and threw for 151 yards. Everybodys looking for somebody to say something, for somebody to do something and take responsibility for themselves. I know I am. I need to be better.BENJAMINS STRUGGLES: For the second straight week, Panthers rookie Benjamin dropped a potential TD pass in the end zone. Newton bailed him out by rushing for a touchdown a few plays later, but its becoming a problem for a team that is struggling to put points on the board. I thought the ball was delivered at a pretty good spot, Panthers coach Ron Rivera said of the drop. It was coming in hot and there was a defender on him but he has made those catches and as he grows and develops as a receiver hell know he has to make all those plays.PROTECTING CAM: Clearly Carolinas injuries on the offensive line have become an issue. The injury-plagued Panthers played without three starters on the offensive line, including left tackle Byron Bell. Both starting guards were also out. Against the Saints the Panthers started a pair of undrafted rookies in left tackle David Foucault and left guard Andrew Norwell. I thought our young guys fought and battled and tried to do the best they can, Rivera said. They came up against a veteran defence as well that did some things that were a little different. I thought our young guys tried to hang in there and do the best they could.___AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and http://twitter.com/AP_NFL Wayne Gallman Womens Jersey . "Its amazing to do this coming from such a small island, where tennis isnt necessarily recognized as one of the main sports," Puig said. She still remembers the massive roar of the home crowd when the Canadians walked out on the pitch before 47,784 fans at Commonwealth Stadium in 2002. Lang expects a similar reception for the Canadian team as the host nation at this years tournament, which begins Tuesday.EASTBOURNE, England -- Top-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland failed to reach the second round of the Aegon International when she was beaten 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (4) by Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova of Russia on Monday. But defending champion Elena Vesnina of Russia held off a strong challenge to beat Shuai Peng of China 6-3, 6-4, and there was another hard-fought victory for 2012 runner-up Angelique Kerber of Germany, who defeated Alison Riske of the United States 7-6 (6), 6-4. Former champion Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark also won, beating Australian Samantha Stosur 7-5, 6-4. Radwanska won the grass-court tournament in 2008, but she has since fallen in the first round four times and not won a match at Eastbourne since she reached the quarterfinals in 2011. Despite her early exit, Radwanska was not too concerned about her lack of match preparation for Wimbledon. In 2012 after a first-round defeat she went on to reach the Wimbledon final, and last year after an opening-round loss she reached the semifinals there. "The first match (on grass) is always tricky," she said. "Well, it was a great match before Wimbledon to get used to it ... I just hope I can do the same good results (at Wimbledon) this year." Wozniacki had to recover a break of serve at the beginning of each set to defeat Stosur but felt comfortable to be back on a surface which netted her the 2009 title at Eastbourne as well as the junior trophy at Wimbledon. Following her first round defeat at Roland Garros, Wozniacki enjoyyed a break in Miami with family and friends, including Serena Williams. Dalvin Tomlinson Jersey. "That was a lot of fun," Wozniacki said. "Serena and I had a good time with some of our other friends ... I came back home and I worked hard every day four, five hours a day. My game is in good shape." Eastbourne also features No. 8 Victoria Azarenka of Belarus. A former No. 1, a left foot injury restricted her to just one match since she surrendered her Australian Open title in the quarterfinals in January. Drawn to face Italian Camila Giorgi in her opening match on Tuesday, Azarenka said, "Its not important for me whos going to be on the other side. I just want to see what I can do, and just see how to raise my level from there." Everyones mind inevitably is on Wimbledon, which begins next week, but second-seeded Petra Kvitova, who reached the Eastbourne final in 2011 before going on to claim the Wimbledon title, is determined to keep her focus on this week. "Of course, I want to play the best that I can to get used to the grass and everything before Wimbledon, but Im taking this tournament as a very big one," Kvitova said. "Its a very tough draw. TORONTO -- Casey Janssen doesnt have a date circled on his calendar for his return to the Toronto Blue Jays lineup. Pascal Siakam Jersey . The Toronto closer is dealing with a left abdominal/lower back problem that sent him to the disabled list March 30, the eve of the Jays season opener. "Its just a day-by-day thing," Janssen said Saturday of his return. He says he plans to push as hard as he can go, but does not want to set a rigid timeline that might lead to disappointment -- or headlines. "We dont want to get ahead of ourselves," he explained. "We dont want to have dates where either I or you (media) guys or anyone else wants to have as a deadline or a certain date, where if I dont make it that day then its breaking news or something like that." Coming after a pre-season that saw him pitch just three innings as he protected his shoulder, it all means that Janssen is a long way off from where he hoped to be. "Im starting to trust it a lot more," he said of the problem oblique muscle. "Im starting to be a lot more active on it. The recovery is quicker, I guess. If Im active on it, within a few hours it (the discomfort) is probably gone. You wake up with a fresh start every day which is nice. "Ive just got to continue to progress. The further we get away from that Montreal date, the healthier its going to get." The Montreal date was the late March finale to the Toronto pre-season. Janssen felt something as he was warming up to go in against the New York Mets, but didnt think it was anything more than a "tight something." "Never did I imagine Id be sitting here in late April having not thrown a pitch," he said. The days after, however, he knew it was something more than tightness. Janssen is slated to throw a bullpen session Sunday, with another planned a few days later. A rehab assignment in the minors will follow. He has already had one of those shut down mid-month when it was determined he needed further rest. "I cant wait to throw (the bullpen session), Im excited," he said. "Hopefully theres no looking back." As frustrated as he is by the inactivity, the 32-year-old right-hander understands patience is needed. "Being in the position where I pitch in a game, youve got to be good," he said. "You dont want to let the team down by figuring it out up here. "So I want to be clicking once I get up here ... At the end of the day, my arms got to be able to bounce back, do the things Im asked to do here and then also have my side tested enough where, the same thing, Im not getting special treatment when Im ready." Janssen, who converted 34-of-36 save opportunities last season. says he only feels the injury occasionally in his day-to-day life. But given the importance of the bodys trunk to throwing, it is like Kryptonite to a pitcher. "Theres no injury thats fun," he said. "This one seems to take lot more time, even when theres no extreme pain." Sergio Santos has assumed the role of closer in Janssens absence. Delon Wright Raptors Jersey . Virtanen opened the scoring at 6:45 of the first period, then gave Canada a two-goal lead with a power-play goal 1:03 into the second. Sweden cut the lead in half when Daniel Muzito Bagenda scored a power-play goal at 10:57 of the second. OAKVILLE, Ont. David Sharpe Youth Jersey . - Ben McIntosh of Coquitlam, B.C., was selected first overall by the Edmonton Rush on Monday in the National Lacrosse Leagues annual draft. McIntosh played midfield for Drexel University in NCAA Division I, scoring 48 goals and adding 17 assists in 2014. Edmonton acquired the pick in a trade with the Minnesota Swarm. Jeremy Noble, from Orangeville, Ont., was taken second by the Rochester Knighthawks — via trade with the Vancouver Stealth — and Minnesota picked Miles Thompson third overall. Eli McLaughlin (Colorado Mammoth), Shane MacDonald (Minnesota), Mark Cockerton (New England), Robert Hope (Colorado) Quinn Powless (New England Black Wolves) and Brandon Goodwin (Buffalo Bandits) rounded out the first round of the draft. A total of 55 players were selected in the six-round draft. Eddie Vanderdoes Jersey . But luckily for the Canadian squad, one goal was all it needed. Winnipegs Sophie Schmidt scored the winner off a Diana Matheson corner kick to seal Canadas third-place spot in the Torneio Internacional de Futebol Feminino in Brazil on Sunday. Only eight cars were running at the end of the 75-lap showcase at Daytona International Speedway on a bizarre night that saw Ricky Stenhouse Jr. end girlfriend Danica Patricks race and the Chevrolet pace car catch fire. "When you think youve seen it all, then you see that. Its never-ending," second-place finisher Brad Keselowski said about the pace car fire. "I thought it was race car. Someone said it was the pace car, and I couldnt help but start laughing." It was Hamlin who got the last laugh, winning the opening race of Speedweeks for the second time in his career. The victory proved that Hamlin has finally fully recovered from the fractured vertebra that cost him five races last season and caused him to struggle for months after his return. But he closed out the year with a victory -- his only win of 2013 -- in the season finale, and made that momentum last over the off-season. "The best car won, thats for sure," he said. "Were two in a row now." The third and final segment was a 20-lap sprint to the finish, and it had the second fewest number of drivers taking the checkered flag in event history. Only seven drivers finished the 1981 race. Hamlin charged to the front right before he took the white flag by diving to the inside and sailing past the few cars on the track. He then drove away in his Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota. "That was survival of the fittest for sure," said Hamlin, also the winner as a rookie in 2006. "With three to go, we were at the tail end of a very small pack. Its really hard to get runs, but this car was phenomenal. You saw it those last couple of laps." This years race had a heavy fan involvement as sponsor Sprint allowed fans to vote for various aspects of the race. Among them was the starting order, how the segments were split aand how the cars lined up in the final segment. Gareon Conley Raiders Jersey. But it was mostly for naught as half the 18-car field was knocked out six laps into the second segment when Matt Kenseth cut across the front of Joey Logano. It triggered a nine-car accident on the frontstretch -- including Stenhouses dramatic late hit into the side of Patricks car. "I got hit by my boyfriend. What a bummer," Patrick said. Stenhouse took blame for ending Patricks race. He had difficulty seeing in front of him because his hood was badly crumpled when he hit the back of Kurt Busch. "I just drilled her," Stenhouse said. "I didnt see anything from the time it started to the time it ended. Talking to Danica, I drilled her when she was pretty much sitting still. I couldnt see, couldnt turn." The accident left debris and mangled sheet metal all over the frontstretch and brought the race to a stop for just over 11 minutes. It ended the night for Tony Stewart, who was racing for the first time since he broke his right leg in an August sprint car crash, and teammates Patrick and Kurt Busch. Kevin Harvick, driving the fourth Stewart-Haas Racing entry in the field, seemed to have a Chevrolet capable of contending for the win but suffered serious damage that dropped him well off the pace. Stewart said he felt physically fine after the hard hit, which left his car turned nose-first into the wall. Jeff Gordons car was stuck behind Stewarts with its rear wheels raised by the front of Buschs car. "I was a little nervous ... but it doesnt feel bad at all," Stewart said. "I dont have any pain. Well see when the adrenaline wears off. But so far, everything feels really good. Im pretty happy with it." Kenseth, whose changing of lanes triggered the accident, said he had no idea Logano was on his inside when he moved. "Honestly, I had no idea anybody was inside of me," Kenseth said. "I feel bad all of those cars got wrecked."
