Animal Crossing Items China has banned the sale of overseas copies of Animal Crossing: New Horizons in the Taobao store. This was reported by analyst Daniel Ahmad on Twitter.

Officially Animal Crossing: New Horizons did not enter China. Fans could buy versions of the game from Europe and the USA on Taobao. However the site suspended the implementation of Animal Crossing citing a 2017 resolution that bans stores selling imported Animal Crossing New Horizons Itemscopies. According to Ahmad this did not happen so often.

Earlier several islands appeared in the game the inhabitants of which called for the liberation of Hong Kong.
